本次主要講 "be going to +動詞原型" 作為一般將來時的用法。
主語 + be going to + 動詞原型
=主語 + will + 動詞原型
例：I will leave soon .
=I am going to leave soon.
我很快就會離開。
He will be there in five minutes .
=He is going to be there in five minutes .
他5分鐘後就會到那兒。
注意：
1.will 與 be going to 雖然意思相同，可相互取代，不過be going to 多指短期內會發生的動作或狀態，而will 則可指短期內或長期以後會發生的動作或狀態。
短期內：
例：He is going to climb mountains with us this weekend .
=He will climb mountains with us this weekend.
這個週末他會跟我去爬山。
長期以後：
例：He is going to marry the girl ten years later.(不太好的用法)
He will marry the girl ten years later.(好的用法)
10年後他會娶那個女孩。
2.句中若表示某種條件下會產生某種現象時，宜使用will，而非be going to 。
例： He is going to lose everything without your help.(不太好的用法)
= He will lose everything without your help.（好的用法）
若沒有你的幫助，他會失去一切。
I am going to get angry if you don't come .(不太好的用法)
I will get angry if you don't come.（好的用法）
你若不來，我會生氣的。
