日常交流中，我們常常感慨於外國同胞們豐富的肢體語言、誇張的面部表情和渾然天成的表現力。作為口語中表達強烈感情的一種重要形式，英語感嘆詞（interjections）在其中做出了卓越貢獻。
不過說起英語中的感嘆詞，大家可能會覺得既熟悉又陌生，感覺挺簡單的，但是用的時候卻又不太得要領。所以今天，就讓我們一起來領略活靈活現的英語常用感嘆詞吧。
先看兩段對話示例：
Jack: I just had the most amazing day out.
Anna: Oh, what happened?
Jack: First, we went into The Diego.
Anna: Uh-huh.
Jack: We were eating at this expensive restaurant …
Anna: Yeah.
Jack: And then we saw Brad Pitt.
Anna: Oh my god!
Jack: He was at the table right next to us.
Anna: Wow, that’s amazing!
Mum: Bob, don’t you think you are old enough to settle down? You are not getting any younger…
Bob: Oh, sure. Anyway, where are you going tomorrow?

如示例所展示，這類小小的感嘆詞在實際的英語交談中，具備強大的功能，你既可以使用它們讓對話更流暢更具有鼓勵性，也可以表達不太感興趣並適時轉換話題。
英語中的常用感嘆詞數量不少，Hey, Well, Oh dear, Yeah, Mm-hmm, Go on, Right, Alright, Sure, Oka, Nice, Wow, No way, Oh my god, Ugh, Really等都具備此功能。接下來我們精選了幾個舉例詳解：
Oh: 噢，嗯〔用於引起別人的注意或者說話時的短暫停頓〕
* Oh, look, I think that’s Henry over there.
* I met your friend in town, oh, what’s his name?
Ah: 啊〔表示驚奇、喜悅、同意等〕
* Ah! There you are!
* Ah, so many questions, so little time.
Ouch：哎呦〔突然感到疼痛時的叫聲〕
* Ouch, you're hurting me!
* Ouch! I've trodden on a thistle!
Oops：哎呀〔摔倒或出了點小差錯時的用語〕
* Oops! I’ve spelt that wrong.

Aha：啊哈〔表示明白或意識到某事〕

There：嘿，嗨；好啦，得啦〔用於向某人問好、呼喊某人或者安慰某人〕

Sh：噓〔用於要求某人安靜〕
* Sh! I’m trying to sleep.

Good heavens：天哪〔表示驚異或者強調自己認不認同別人的意見〕
* Good heavens! This is ridiculous!
* Good Heavens! That explains a lot!
感嘆詞是用來表示說話時表達的喜怒哀樂等強烈情感的詞。它不構成後面句子的一個語法成分，既可以獨立成句，也可以根據實際情況置於句首、句中和句尾。學會感嘆詞，對於提高英語交際能力起著重要的作用。
