為什麼把Christmas寫成Xmas

難道不是因為這樣寫比較省事。。。？
當然不是！
最近有種說法表示，聖誕節（Christmas）並不是為紀念耶穌出生的節日，因為耶穌的生日並不是12月25日，聖經裡也從來沒說過耶穌在這一天誕生。所以。。才有了Xmas？
其實是這樣的：
在希臘語與字母表中，X是上帝耶穌基督這個詞的第一個字母（X=Chi）
In the Greek language and alphabet,
the letter that looks like an X is the Greek letter chi/Χ which is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ.
這種用法，可以追溯到16世紀。
Its use dates back to the 16th century.
所以X mas等同於Christmas！並且寓意深刻~
