为什么把Christmas写成Xmas

难道不是因为这样写比较省事。。。？
当然不是！
最近有种说法表示，圣诞节（Christmas）并不是为纪念耶稣出生的节日，因为耶稣的生日并不是12月25日，圣经里也从来没说过耶稣在这一天诞生。所以。。才有了Xmas？
其实是这样的：
在希腊语与字母表中，X是上帝耶稣基督这个词的第一个字母（X=Chi）
In the Greek language and alphabet,
the letter that looks like an X is the Greek letter chi/Χ which is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ.
这种用法，可以追溯到16世纪。
Its use dates back to the 16th century.
所以X mas等同于Christmas！并且寓意深刻~
