on和in這樣的介詞看上去“嬌小可人”，實際上在用法上卻並不簡單，很多表達都很容易給同學們挖坑，導致在使用時丟分。下面我從常見中學題型中給大家舉幾個例子。
1、on the wall 與 in the wall
是不是都是“在牆上”的意思？是的，但是具體該用在什麼場合呢？
on the wall 的用法大家要想一想之前我給大家說明的，介詞 on 表示“在...上”時是有接觸面的。比如說：
The book is on the desk. 書在書桌上。
所以 on the wall 大家就很好理解了，是指“在牆面上”。比如說：
There is a notice on the wall. 牆面上有一張告示。
in the wall 的用法大家可以聯想一下，in 是“在...裡面”的意思。比如說：
There is a book in my bag. 我包裡有一本書。
那麼 in the wall 也很好理解了，就是“嵌在牆裡面”。比如說：
There are four windows in the wall. 牆上嵌著四扇窗。
2、on the tree 與 in the tree
都是“在...樹上”的意思，但是用法上有什麼區別呢？根據我上文對 on 和 in 的講解，同學們應該很好理解了。
on the tree 是長在樹上，in the tree 是外來物在樹上。例如：
There are many apples on the tree. 樹上有很多蘋果。
There is a boy in the tree. 樹上有一個男孩。
3、on the newspaper 與 in the newspaper
都是“在報紙上”的意思，用法上，on the newspaper是“放在報紙上”，in the newspaper是指“在報紙裡的內容”。
Don't put your cup on the newspaper. 不要把你的杯子放在報紙上。
I read some good news in the newspaper. 在報紙上我讀到了一些好消息。
區分好 on 和 in 的用法對理解以上搭配是很有幫助的。
