一、強調句型的構成

強調句型：It+be+被強調部分+ that/who+句子其它部分構成，其中被強調部分可以是句子的主語，賓語，狀語，等。

1、強調主語

強調句：It is TV that gives me something that I am interested in.

非強調句：TV gives me something that I am interested in.

2、強調賓語

強調句：It is a better way that they are looking for to cut down the cost.

非強調句：They are looking for a better way to cut down the cost.

3、強調狀語

強調句：It was in the hotel where I stayed that I caught sight of the criminal yesterday.

非強調句：I caught sight of the criminal yesterday in the hotel where I stayed

二、強調句型的判斷

學生容易把強調句型與從句搞混淆，判斷句子是否為真正的強調句型可能採取復原法，即把功能性詞，it,be,that都去掉，再看剩下被強調部分是否能成為被強調部分。比如，It was the ability to do the job that matters not where you come from or what you are. 我們先把這個句子結構性詞都去掉後為：matters not where you come from or what you are. 顯然這個句子缺少主語，剛好被強調部分the ability to do the job可以做這個句子的主語，因此這個句子是強調句型。但也有的句子貌似強調句型，實則不是強調句型的題比如，It was the school gate __________ I met an old friend of mine.我們採用復原法把結構詞都去掉後變為：the school gate I met an old friend of mine the school gate，the school gate為名詞短語，不是句子的狀語， 因此本句不是強調句型，而是定語從句，應填 where才正確。如果在the school gate前加上介詞at，就可以做狀語，是強調句型，應填 that。
