有人跟你說“I'm going to clean your clock.”，他是要幫你清潔你的鐘嗎?
當然不是。
美國人有時會用鍾來指代人的臉(因為鐘有鐘面)。
但是“Clean your clock” 不是幫你洗臉，而是把你揍到面腫或者把你打敗。
例句1：
A: Joe and Peter got into a fight at the bar last night.
A:昨晚Joe和Peter在酒吧打起來。
B: Really? Joe must have cleaned Peter's clock.
B:真的啊? Joe一定把Peter揍得很慘。
例句2：
A: Let's play chess.
A:來下盤棋吧。
B: Sure, I'm going to clean your clock.
B:好啊，我會打敗你的。
