Going South By Driving The Chariot North 南辕北辙
Once a man wanted to go to the south (南方), but his carriage (马车) was heading north (北方).
从前有个人要到南方去，他的马车却向北方行驶。
A passer-by asked him: “If you are going to the south, why is your chariot heading north?”
一个过路人问他：“如果你要去南方，你的车子为什么要向北行驶呢？”
The man answered: “My horse is good at running, my driver is highly skilled at driving a carriage, and I have enough money.”
那人回答说：“我的马很能跑，我的车夫驾车的技术也很高明，加上我又有足够的钱。”
The man didn’t consider that the direction (方向) might be wrong.
那个人没有考虑到方向也许是错的。
The better his conditions (条件) were, the further he was away from his destination.
他的条件越好，离他要去的地方就越远。
