最初聽到這首詩，還是《還珠格格》中紫薇對爾康的那句告白：“山無稜，天地合，才敢與君絕。”這首漢樂府的民歌，是女子忠貞愛情的自誓之詞，以一系列不可能的事件——

七夕是牛郎織女相會的節日，而這首詩是較早描寫牛郎織女故事的五言詩，收錄於《古詩十九首》。此詩借神話傳說中牛郎、織女被銀河阻隔而不得會面的悲劇，抒發了女子離別相思之情，寫出了人間夫妻不得團聚的悲哀。實為苦情詩——相隔在清清淺淺的銀河兩邊，含情默默相視無言地痴痴凝望。

cassia 桂皮，肉桂
李商隱以“無題”作過兩首有名的愛情詩，其一便是這首“身無綵鳳雙飛翼，心有靈犀一點通”，另一首是《無題·相見時難別亦難》。“春蠶到死絲方盡，蠟炬成灰淚始幹”，其中愛情可謂忠貞不渝、海誓山盟。

《離思》一共五首，是唐代詩人元稹創作的一組悼亡絕句。名句“曾經滄海難為水，除卻巫山不是雲”出自第四首，用隱喻的筆法抒寫了詩人對亡妻韋叢忠貞不渝的愛情和刻骨的思念。
韋叢是元稹愛妻，夫妻兩情甚篤，但韋叢卻在二十七歲就早逝。元稹為她寫過數首詩篇，《譴悲懷三首》、《離思五首》、《六年春遣懷八首》等，皆感人至深。
“曾經領略過蒼茫的大海，就覺得別處的水相形見絀；曾經領略過巫山的雲靄，就覺得別處的雲黯然失色。”林語堂在翻譯《浮生六記》時，將這句名句譯為：
It is difficult to be water for one who has seen the great seas,
And difficult to be clouds for one who has seen the Yangtze Gorges.

李之儀是北宋詞人，早年師從范仲淹之子範純仁，後來是蘇軾門人之一。這首詞是他為歌妓楊姝所作。北宋崇寧二年（1103年），李之儀被貶太平州。禍不單行，兒女夫人相繼離世，讓他備受打擊。這時他遇到了當地絕美歌妓楊姝，並對其一見傾心，為她寫下了好幾首詞。這首《卜算子》是他攜楊姝來到長江邊面對滾滾江水寫下的千古流傳的愛情詞。白髮對紅顏，枯木逢春。

Die Lian Hua

關於七夕的古詩詞，以秦觀這首《鵲橋仙》最廣為流傳。這首詞不僅訴說了“歡娛苦短”，最後憑藉“兩情若是久長時，又豈在朝朝暮暮”，將愛情的主題昇華，達到了更高的境界。
