上週末羅森博格擊敗了特羅姆瑟，排在國內聯賽積分榜第二位，與挪威聯賽領頭羊的差距已經縮小到2分。他們在過去的10場正式比賽中贏下8場，新賽季22場比賽只輸掉3場，上賽季他們在擁有澤尼特、皇家社會以及瓦爾達爾等強隊的小組中最終名列第三，本賽季已經準備好再闖歐洲。
雷克雅未克矛隼近3場只贏下1場，過去13場比賽總共也只贏了7場，目前排在積分榜第二位，與領頭羊差距不大，不過他們上賽季總比分3比5不敵東扎爾，無緣歐戰，再上一年，球隊兩回合總比分1比10完敗於布隆德比。
羅森博格上賽季最終止步於鄧達克，但是擊敗了強大的阿賈克斯（包括客場1比0獲勝），並且兩回合戰勝凱爾特人，見慣大場面的他們應該能輕鬆擊敗弱不禁風的冰島球隊。

Rosenborg defeat Tromso last weekend and now they are second, only two points behind the leader in the competitive Norwegian championship. They have won eight of the last 10 games in all competitions, losing only three of the 22 played in this new season, and are ready to play in Europe again after finishing third in a tough group last year with Zenit, Real Sociedad and Vardar.
Valur has won only one of the last three, and overall, seven of the last 13 played in all competitions, and are currently second in the table, tied with the leaders, but couldn’t feature in last season’s European Football after losing 5-3 in an aggregate with Donzale, and 10-1 with Brondby the previous one, losing in both cases the two legs.
Rosenborg couldn’t beat Dundalk in the Champions League last year but overcame Ajax to tgot to the group stage (including a 0-1 away triumph) after beating Celtic over two legs, so they are used to the big scenarios and should be able to overcome easily the weak Icelandic side.
