①回答，答覆：
Who can answer the question? 誰能回答這個問題？
②(對電話等的）應答：
Go and answer the door.
去開門。
His didn't answer the phone.
他沒接電話。
【搭配或短語】answer for 對···負責：
You'll have to answer for what you have done one day.
你總有一天要為你的行為付出代價的。
【辨析】
answer 和 reply, 他們都有回答的意思，但 reply 不能直接帶賓語，而要加to:
He didn't reply to me.
He replied he knew nothing about it.
他回答說他一無所知。
【例題】
They agreed _what he said.
A. to B. on C. with D. about (C)
I quite agree him_ that point.
A. with, on B.to, on C. with, to D. with, in (A)
