 hoard[hɔːd]
▼
e.g. They've begun to hoard food
and petrol and save their money.
You’re such a hoarder.
My grandfather/grandmother is such a hoarder.
I’m not a hoarder. I’m just green.
e.g. The paper is on sale. Let's stock up.
e.g. During the emergency,
people stocked up on essential items.
stock up on sth
e.g. why not stock up on fruit instead?
From the perspective of nutrition, the daily food materials can be divided into eight categories: potato, meat and eggs, beans, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, nuts and fats.
A:Put an apple in your bag of potatoes.
Prevent potatoes from sprouting by putting them in a brown bag with a whole apple. This will keep them good for up to eight weeks.
A:Don't refrigerate your tomatoes
Putting tomatoes in the fridge may inhibit bacterial growth, but they’ll quickly lose their flavor and texture.
A:Absorb veggie moisture.
Put a paper towel in plastic bags of precut vegetables or washed lettuce. It will absorb the moisture that causes them to rot.

Tip:With the exception of lettuce and leafy greens, wash your produce just before eating. Otherwise, the moisture can make it spoil faster.
A:Putting a piece of bread.
Keep the treats in your cookie jar from getting stale by putting a piece of bread – preferably white bread – inside the jar; the cookies will draw moisture from the bread, keeping them soft. Replace the bread when it gets hard.
Tip:Stick a slice of bread inside an opened box of brown sugar to keep it from hardening.
