自2020年開始，河南省中考英語就取消了單選題，增加了語法填空題作為新題型，從單純地考學生是否記住語法規則，變成了考學生是否能夠根據文章情景熟練地運用語法規則。

語篇填空題型說明（分兩節）
第一節
10個小題，每小題1分，共10分。
題目要求和原來一樣，備選詞原為12個，現改為10個。降低了考查的難度。
