(Feb.21, 2020, /staffingindustry.com/)Online staffing platform operator Freelancer Ltd. (FLN:ASX) reported cash receipts rose 7.8% over the previous corresponding period to AUD 14.4 million (USD 10.1 million) in the fourth quarter, according to a filing today with the ASX.
Gross payment volume for its Freelancer online staffing segment rose 6.7% in full-year 2019 from the previous corresponding period to AUD 181.4 million (USD 126.9 million) in the full-year 2019. The company also operates an escrow segment.
Total gross payment volume for full-year 2019 was up 6.3% to AUD 787.7 million (USD 550.9 million).
Freelancer has developed a number of important enterprise relationships. The company announced it was working to support “Deloitte MyGigs,” an internal talent marketplace for Deloitte. In addition, Freelancer said Airbus has launched an internal platform based on its application program interface (API). Airbus is hiring a selection of technology freelancers and has started the program in its helicopter division.
In the final quarter of 2019, the company also launched two new pilot projects with Fortune 500 multinational organisations providing field services in the European and South East Asian regions. The intent is to disrupt the traditional field services business models via crowdsourcing, starting in the IT and telecommunications services sectors.
