今天要給大家分享的是I Am科普系列中的一本，I'm a leaf。《I Am A Leaf》以一片樹葉的自述展開四季的更迭變換。夏天的時候樹葉們有工作要做，就是給它們居住的樹做食物。
做食物的原料從哪裡來呢？當然是從陽光和空氣中來，"嗯~這陽光感覺還不錯"， 哦！還需要收集一些水分...當這片樹葉很忙的時候，毛毛蟲、蜘蛛、松鼠相繼來搗亂，可是這並沒有讓它分心；秋天來了，葉子的工作也隨之結束了，換下綠色的"工作服"，穿上紅色、黃色、橙色的盛裝，去參加Party啦！......
這篇像詩一樣的繪本非常適合睡覺前講給孩子聽，或者把音頻放給孩子聽也非常美妙呢~

封面上，一個小男孩手捧許多樹葉。空中，也飄落著許多樹葉。觀察一下，這些樹葉是什麼顏色的？它們又是什麼樹的樹葉呢？
Today let's read a new book. The name of the book is I am a Leaf. 今天我們來讀一本新書，書的名字叫《我是一片葉子》。
First take a look at the cover. 先來看看封面。
What do you see on the cover? 封面上你看到了什麼？I see a boy and many leaves. 我看到一個男孩和許多樹葉。
What color are the leaves? 這些樹葉是什麼顏色的？Some are yellow. Some are orange. Some are red. 有些是黃色的。有些是橙色的。有些是紅色的。
What kind of leaves are they? Have a guess. 他們是什麼樹葉呢？猜猜看。I think they are maple leaves. 我認為它們是楓葉。

I live on a maple tree. 我生長在一棵楓樹上。

This ladybug is crawling on the leaf. 這隻瓢蟲正在葉子上爬呢。Do you know how to crawl? 你知道什麼是crawl嗎？Crawl is to move slowly with both your hands and knees and your body near the ground. Crawl就是手腳並用、身體接近地面，緩慢地向前移動。（這裡家長們可以手腳並用在地板或者沙發上演示下，用動作演示是讓孩子理解動詞最好的做法，勝過其他任何語言的解釋。）

To make tree food, leaves need water. 要製造養料，樹葉需要水分。Where does the water come from? Rainwater. 水分哪裡來？雨水裡來。How does the rainwater go into the leaves? 雨水是怎樣進入到樹葉中去的？Look at the raindrops! What color are they? 看這些雨滴，他們是什麼顏色的？They are blue. 雨滴是藍色的。Do you see something blue in the tree? 你看到樹上有什麼東西是藍色的了嗎？That is rainwater. （結合繪本文字，講解雨水是如何進入樹葉裡去的。）雨水進入到樹葉的葉脈中，讓孩子理解vein，可以指著自己的血管講解：Look, this is a vein. My veins carry blood. But the leaves' veins carry water and food. 看，這是血管。我手上的血管是用來運輸血液的。葉子上的管子是用來運輸水和養料的。

Then I add something green. 然後我加入了一些綠色的東西。
It's called chlorophyll (KLOR-o-fill). 這就是所謂的葉綠素。

四、 玩繪本
1. 科學小實驗
通過這個變色科學小實驗，孩子可以看到樹葉是怎樣通過導管來運輸水分和養料的。
2. 葉子大作戰
帶著孩子娃去野外蒐集各種各樣的葉子回來觀察，有什麼不同之處，有什麼相同之處？
3. 手工摺紙
對喜歡動手的娃和心靈手巧的媽媽來說，折一些樹葉來玩，也是不錯的主意。
4. 動動手
帶著孩子動動手，來體驗一把培育小樹的成長之旅。需要的時間比較長，可以訓練娃的耐心啦。

這套書的作者Jean Marzollo：她的另外一套作品《I Spy》系列大家一定聽說過。作者早年畢業於哈佛教育專業，很擅長寫詩歌題材，因此在創作兒童作品的時候也將詩歌融合到其中，所以她的作品讀起來押韻、朗朗上口、有節奏感。
插畫作家Judith Moffatt：他是美國剪紙藝術家，他的剪紙生動活潑，顏色豐富，具有很強的藝術表現力。《I am……》系列這套書2003年獲得了奧本海姆玩具童書的金獎。
