蜀南竹海
在中國，栽培和利用竹子已有至少上千年的歷史。竹子可能是中國人最珍視的植物之一。在中國西南四川省有一片竹子森林。數以億計的竹子覆蓋了27座峻嶺、500座峰巒。四川南部的竹海（蜀南竹海）是世界上面積最大的天然竹林。據說有428個竹子品種。其中，楠竹長得最快，它們覆蓋了4.7萬多平方公里的山地，從竹筍長到成年竹子僅需40天，成材只需4年。
The sea of bamboos
Bamboo has been cultivated and utilized in China for thousands of years at least. And it’s possibly one of the Chinese people most cherished plants. There is a bamboo forest in Sichuan province in Southwest China. Hundreds of millions of bamboos cover 27 mountains and more than 500 peaks. The Bamboo Sea in Southern Sichuan is the largest natural bamboo forest in the world. It is said that there are 428 kinds of bamboos here. Among them, the Nan bamboo grows the fastest. They cover more than 47,000 square kilometers of the mountain side. And they are able to grow from shoots to mature bamboo in just forty days and grow into woods within four years.
