"At this rate"
“rate”表示“速度”
"這個速度" 不是 "this speed"
而是“at this rate”，這個短語用來表達：照目前狀況發展，某事會/不會發生。
例句：

"
"That's a first" 不是 "那是第一個"
這個句子用來說“一件以前從來沒發生過的事”，來表達說話人的吃驚，詫異。可翻譯為：頭一回啊！這真是頭一遭！這是第一次。

It remains to be seen
"
"有待觀察" 不是 "wait to watch"
而是“it remains to be seen”. 表達我們目前對某個事情瞭解不全，不確定將來會怎樣。常常在有疑惑的時候說。通常翻譯為：有待觀察。
例句：
A:
My sense is that we have made progress ...
我覺得我們已經取得了一些進展呢...
B:
It remains to be seen how this meeting comes out.
但是這個會議結果還需拭目以待。
