The "Charming Sichuan Education Expo" has opened in the Polish capital city of Warsaw to enhance higher education cooperation between Poland and southwest China's Sichuan Province.
At the opening ceremony, Przemyslaw Skrodzki, chief expert from the Department of International Cooperation from the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, said that it's the best time for exchanges and cooperation between Poland and China, citing that more than 2,000 Chinese students are studying in Poland. According to Skrodzki, this number is still growing at an average rate of 20 percent each year.
Chairman of the board of the Polish-Chinese Education Foundation Filip Czernicki said that education fairs, such as this event, can put together and display many educational resources in one place, allowing Polish schools to better understand Sichuan, and its colleges and universities, and provide a good platform to enhance exchanges.
Li Guanghua, Deputy Secretary of the work of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Education Committee, introduced the basic situation of Sichuan and local education during the opening ceremony and emphasized the fact that Sichuan Province attached great importance to the opening-up and internationalization of education.
The event was organized by the Sichuan Provincial Education Department and co-organized by the Polish-Chinese Education Foundation. Altogether 16 universities from Sichuan Province took part in the fair.
To further strengthen cooperation, a cooperation agreement was signed at the opening ceremony between Sichuan Provincial Education Department and the Polish-Chinese Education Foundation.
