high GNP, well-educatedpopulation, sizeable military. India may have some of the world's largest, mostcrowded cities but it's a superpower for the same reasons the other 4 are. Ithas pockets of rural, provincial people but so do the other 4. It retains someremnants of the caste system but "superpower" status is not based ona country's culture or religious beliefs. It's based on a country's economicstatus and military power.
