咱们曾了解过测量这门科目的定义：
测量主要研究度量物体以及用于度量的单位和系统。
例如距离(Distance)、面积(Area)、重量(Mass)、容量(Capacity)、体积(Volume)、温度(Temprature)、测量工具(Instruments)、单位(Units)等。
Distance 距离
The length of the space between two points 两点之音的长度
Length 长度
The measure of how far from a starting point to a finishing point 测量从一点到另一点的距离
Width 宽度
The distance from side to side 测量边到边的距离
Height 高度
Showing how high or tall something stands 测量物体立起来的高矮
Instruments 测量工具
Ruler 尺子: a tool to measure the length of an object
Units 测量单位
centimetre: 厘米
metre: 米
inch: 英寸
foot: 英尺
Area 面积
The extent or measurement of a surface or piece of land 测量一个表面或一块土地的范围

square centimetre: 平方厘米
square metre: 平方米
acre: 英亩
hectare: 公顷
Mass 重量
The property of a body that causes it to have weight in a gravitational field 物体由于引力场而产生的属性

balance 天平: a device that shows if two objects have the same mass
scale 秤: a device to measure weight or mass

kilogram: 千克
Capacity 容量
The maximum amount that something can contain 物体能容纳的最大量

milliliter: 毫升
liter: 升
Volume 体积
The amount of space that a substance or object occupies, or that is enclosed within a container 物体占用或容器包含的空间大小

Temprature 温度

thermometer 温度计: an instrument for measuring and indicating temperature
