都說女兒是爸爸的小情人，不管要什麼爸爸都去做。那如果是天上的月亮呢？
Before Monica went to bed she looked out of her window and saw the moon. The moon looked so near."I wish I could play with the moon," thought Monica, and reached for it.
有一天晚上，小姑娘Monica上床睡覺之前，看到了窗外的月亮。月亮又大又圓，看起來很近很近。“好想和月亮玩啊。”Monica心想，並且把自己的小手向月亮伸去。
But no matter how much she stretched, she could not touch the moon."Papa," said Monica to her father," Please get the moon for me."
可是，她伸呀伸，怎麼都夠不到月亮。“爸爸，你幫我把月亮摘下來好嗎？”她對爸爸說。
Papa got a very long ladder.
爸爸找來了一個長長的梯子。
He carried the very long ladder toward a very high mountain.
然後，爬到了一個很高很高的山上。
Then Papa put the very long ladder on top of the very high mountain.
他把長長的梯子搭在了高高的山頂上。
Up and up and up he climbed.
爸爸不停地往上爬著爬著。
Finally, Papa got to the moon, "My daughter Monica would like to play with you, but you are much too big" said Papa."Every night I get a little smaller," said the moon. "When I am just the right size you can take me with you."
終於，爸爸爬到了月亮上。“我的女兒Monica想和你一起玩” 他對月亮說，“不過，你這麼大，我沒法帶回去啊”。月亮說話了：“我每天晚上都會變小一點。等我變得差不多大小的時候，你就可以把我帶回去了。”
And, indeed, the moon got smaller and smaller.And smaller.
果然，從那之後，月亮越來越小。越來越小。
When the moon was just the right size, Papa took it.Down and down and down he climbed.
最終它變成可以隨身攜帶的大小,爸爸摘到月亮，拿在手中。一點點從梯子上面爬了下來。
"Here," said Papa to Monica, "I have the moon for you."Monica jumped and danced with the moon.She hugged the moon and threw it into the air.But the moon kept getting smaller and smaller and smaller, and finally it disappeared altogether.
“Monica，這是你想要的月亮，給你！”Monica非常地高興，她捧著月亮，和它一起又唱又跳……她一下子把它抱在懷裡，一下子把它扔在空中。月亮還是越來越小，越來越小，最後呼得一下消失了。
Then, one night, Monica saw a thin sliver of the moon reappear.
幾天之後，Monica在天上發現了纖細的月亮。
Each night the moon grew.....And grew..
月亮每天晚上都在慢慢變大，慢慢變大……慢慢變大……
And grew..
慢慢變大……
