如何正确学习英语短语Like father,like son？
记住，“学”英语，不是用中文来“理解”英语的，英语才是。中文只是用来做英语“理解”后的“表达”。
没用英语“理解”前就不要用中文“表达”。弄不明白这二者作用和区别，英语别学了。
我们常常把“用英语理解和用中文表达”这两个独立的语言能力混为一谈，尤其是变成“中文理解，中文表达”。
1) 英语“理解”：
Idiom：Like father,like son
1.Said when a son takes after his father in manners, interests, behavior, etc.
2.Fathers and sons resemble each other, and sons tend to do what their fathers did before them.
3. In the same manner from generation to generation.
4. A son's character or behaviour can be expected to resemble that of his father.
5. As is the mother, so is the daughter’.
你“学”英语连这点“用英语理解”的“功课”都没做，开口直接就“用中文理解”Like father like son，又“用中文表达‘又像父亲又像儿子”呢？
你如何能真正知道like father,like son什么意思？又如何真正能把英语“学”好，学透？
虽然直接阅读上面的英语文字，无需“借用”任何中文翻译就能明白like father like son的“英语意思”，但是，在like father like son与中文表达“有其父必有其子”之间并不会直接形成“对应关系”(我的课堂上试过很多学生，中文“不是很好”者并不能说出“有其父必有其子”这句比较漂亮的中文)。
所以，为了把我们用英语已经“理解”了的英语“表达”成比较好的中文，我们这时才要“用”到中文，也就是说，学习英语到了这个地步，中文才“出场”了。
中文是为了“表达”需要才用上的，英语是为了“理解”需要。
我们“学”Like father,like son，不光是为了记住这个短语，能用上这个短语，更是为了能够直接用a son takes after his father in manners, interests, behavior, etc. Fathers and sons resemble each other, and sons tend to do what their fathers did before them. In the same manner from generation to generation等等英语去记住这个短语，以后见到它，张口就来的不只是它的中文义，还有它这一大堆的英语意思。后者更能强化我们的英语能力。
2) 英语之外有英语：Put English into English口语训练：
1. Okay.Like father.like son is an English idiom.
2 When we say Like father,like son,we mean：Fathers and sons resemble/look like each other in everything,such as manners, interests, behavior, etc.
3. 还可以有基于上述英语的自我英语造句口语表达。
问题就是很多人根本记不住(或不愿意去记？)上面一大堆英语，还不如直接记中文意思“有其父必有其子”来的简单痛快。
于是，多年浪费时间精力“学”英语的事情就这样发生了。
