时态一直以来都是中考的重中之重，就以最新的中考题来说，单选部分一共10道题，而时态考察占了7道，也就是说，攻克时态题是中考的重点之一。
那么时态题到底难不难？的确，要将分数都拿到手不容易，不过对于学过新概念二册的学生来说，可能难度会小很多。因为二册对于语法，尤其是时态的学习可谓非常全面而系统，再加之一些课外的学习和课文的背诵，将会对时态的掌握提升一个台阶。
下面我们就以中考真题为例来逐个分析一下这些考题：
28. Paul and I tennis yesterday. He did much better than I.
A. play B. will play C. played D. are playing
基于时间为yesterday，此题考察一般过去式，选C。新概念二册中第三课Please send me a card就对一般过去式进行了系统的讲解， 这个小故事中讲到了作者去意大利给朋友们写明信片的事情，从第二句last summer起，都是在讲述过去的事情，所以作者用的全部是过去式，通过阅读这篇文章可以对一般过去式有更好的掌握。
29.Where’s Tom ?His mother him now.
A.is looking for B. will look for C. has looked for D. looks for
此题时间状语为now， 考察现在进行时。二册第二课Breakfast or lunch中讲到作者的姑母去看她时，有这样一段话： 'What are you doing?' she asked. 'I'm having breakfast,' I repeated. 当时已经下午一点了，作者的姑母表示很吃惊，问他正在做什么，作者说正在吃早饭，两句话均用be doing表示正在进行，同样，此题说Tom的妈妈正在找他，选A。
31. My aunt is a writer. She more than ten books since 1980.
A. writes B. wrote C. has written D. will write
此题出现一个重要的单词since，看一下新概念课文中的句子：Ever since he moved in, he has had trouble with cars and their owners.(Lesson 28) Since then, Captain Fawcett has flown passengers to many unusual places. (Lesson 29) Since then, they have been trying to find out how the fire began.(Lesson 53)在此不一一列举，其他句子详见第59课，第 72课，第 76课，第93课。不难看出，since要与完成时连用，因此，此题选C。
32.----What were you doing this time yesterday?
-----I on the grass and drawing a picture.
A. sit B. sat C. am sitting D. was sitting
提问中问道过去某一时间具体做什么，因此选D。第七课Too late中，有四处都是过去进行时，The plane was late and detectives were waiting at the airport all morning. When the plane arrived, some of the detectives were waiting inside the main building while others were waiting on the airfield. While two detectives were keeping guard at the door, two others opened the parcel. 分别用到了表示过去具体时间的all morning，when， while，这里面也可看出过去进行时的构成was/were doing。
33.I will send you an e-mail as soon as I in Canada.
A, arrive B. arrived C.am arriving D. will arrive
As soon as与什么时态搭配呢？as soon as后面的从句要用一般现在时，主句中用一般将来时，与if的用法一样，除此之外还有when， until。十六课中第一句话If you park your car in the wrong place, a traffic policeman will soon find it.可以总结为“主将从现”，新概念中还出现了这几个词的另一种用法，第二十七课As soon as this was done, they cooked a meal over an open fire.可总结为“主过从过”。此题选A.
34. Many accidents by careless drivers last year.
A. are caused B. were caused C. have caused D. will cause
这道题参见前面的28题，同样，时间为last year，因此选B。本题唯一的难点在于词汇上的难度较之于28题更难些，accident，cause，careless都在新概念五十三课里面了，只是稍加变化，课文中出现的为accidentally，cause，carelessly，在课堂上都会讲到词汇的构成，去掉ly副词后缀，再去掉al形容词后缀，单词本意即可得出。
35.-----Do you know tomorrow?
------At 8 o’clock.
A. when did she come B. when she came
C. when will she come D. when she will come
此题考查宾语从句，详见新概念二册第二十六课。宾语从句中，主句为现在时态时，从句可用任何时态。这里她还没有回来，表达将来时间，因此选D。
