受疫情的影响，各地学校还没正式开学。为了不耽误教学工作，多地开展了网上教学。但是距离中考和高考的时间越来越近了，很多学生家长也希望能早点开学，为中考和高考做准备。但是具体的开学时间还是得根据疫情的具体情况确定，你期待开学吗？
说到“开学”，大家知道用英语怎么说吗？可告诉“开学”就是“open school”，这种中式英语可别再犯了。
“开学”就是我们新学期的开始，所以我们可以这样说：
new semester（或term）starts/begins
说到semester和term，大家可能还会想这两个词有什么区别呢？这就给大家分享一下：
semester：
one of the periods into which a year is divided at a college or university, especially in the US and Australia
semester本意除了“学期”还表示“半学年”，主要用于美国等国家，一学年两个学期
the first/second semester
the spring/ fall semester 春季/秋季学期
term：主要适用于英国，一学年分为三个学期。
the spring/ summer/ fall term 春季/夏季/秋季学期。
再来谈谈“上学、去学校”用英语该怎么说？
相信上过初中的同学都会脱口而出是go to school，因为中学英语课本里面经常会出现这样的句子：How do you usually go to school ？I usually go to school by bus. 那么，go to school和go to the school 有区别吗？
还有，go to the school在很多外国人眼中也是对的，why？这就为你解释其中的原因。
“go to school”与“ go to the school”的本质区别
通过对比这两个短语，一眼看过去他们的区别就是后者比前者多了一个定冠词the，那么有the和无the到底产生了何种区别呢？从广义上来看，有无冠词或定冠词让短语意思发生了何种变化呢？
有冠词时，go to表示“去某个地方”
His mother often goes to the school to see him.
他的妈妈经常去学校看他。
零冠词时，go to表示“常规性出席”
He usually goes to school by bike.
他通常骑自行车到校上课。
或许大家还会联想到之前为大家讲述的“go to hospital”和“go to the hospital”的区别，再带大家学习一遍：
go to hospital表示“住院看病”
Her colleagues thought she had eaten something wrong and asked her to go to hospital.
同事以为她吃坏肚子了，劝她去医院看看。
go to the hospital表示“去医院”这个具体的行为
I think Jack will have to go to the hospital. His father had a heart attack.
杰夫不能来了， 我想他得去医院， 他的父亲心脏病发作了。
