今天给大家讲个故事，故事的名字叫《未雨绸缪》，希望读完这个故事后，因为疫情不得不呆在家里的你有所感悟有所收获。
Many years ago, A farmer owned a big farm along the Atlantic seacoast. He was so busy every day that he wanted to hire a farmhand to help him .but when he advertised for several days,he received a steady stream of refusals.
从前有个农庄主，他生活在大西洋沿岸的一个农庄里，他拥有一大块儿土地，每天都辛勤地耕耘在这块土地上，他起早贪黑，辛苦极了！他急需帮手帮助他打理农场里的活计。所以他就打出广告招聘农夫到他这里工作，可是几天下来，却没有一个人愿意到他这儿工作。
Do you know why? I think you can guess the reason.Yes, because of the awful storms! The storms are so terrible that they can rage across the Atlantic,wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.So most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic.
聪明的你，猜猜为什么呢？对啦，暴风雨。风平浪静的时候这里风光旖旎，美不胜收，一但暴风雨来临却是另外一副样子，狂风加杂着暴雨毫不留情地捶毁庄园里的一切。所以人们都不愿意到沿岸的农庄去打工。
How disappointed and sad the farmer felt!
此时的农庄主是多么的失望和哀伤啊！
But one day a man came in,he was short and thin but looks smart and kind.
有一天一个身材矮小瘦弱但看上去却精明和蔼的男人走进庄园，他说他想应聘这份工作。
the farmer asked him, "Are you a good farmer?"
"Well,I can sleep when the wind blows." Answered the little man.
男子表示，“刮风下雨的时候，我也可以睡觉。”
Although puzzled by his answer, the farmer,desperate for help, hired him finally.
农庄主上下仔细打量着这个小个子男人，对他是否能够胜任这份工作产生怀疑，但是因为自己非常需要一个人来做帮手，他也不顾多想就录用了他！
The little man worked hard around the farm from dawn to dark and the farmer felt satisfied with the little man.
这个人到岗以后，起早贪黑，辛苦劳作，把庄园的事情打理得井井有条，事无巨细令庄主非常满意，挑不出任何瑕疵。
One night the terrible storm came, the strong wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed to the next door and yelled ，"Get up! A stom is coming! Tie things well when the wind blows."
暴风雨终于在月黑风高的夜晚来临啦，被风雨声惊醒的庄主一跃而起，赶紧到隔壁叫醒了农夫，让他一块儿去把庄园中的东西绑紧了，以免被风刮走！
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No,sir,I told you,I can sleep when the storm comes."
可是男子翻了个身，十分肯定地说，“不用，先生，我跟你说过，刮风下雨的时候我也可以睡觉。”
Enraged by the response,the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot.But he said nothing and hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his surprise,he discovered that all the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins,the cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. the shutters were tightly secured.
农庄主被他的反应激怒啦，气得当场就想解雇他，不过他还是急匆匆跑到外面为暴风雨的来临做好准备。令他感到惊讶的是，他发现所有的干草垛都盖上了防水帆布，牛安静地呆在自己的家里，小鸡们也静静地呆在鸡舍里，百叶窗和各房间的门都紧闭着。
Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away.Now the farmer understood what the farmer meant,so he returned to his bed and slept while the wind blew.
一切都做好了准备，万事俱备只欠东风。此时的农庄主才恍然大悟，明白了农夫话的含义，于是他在暴风雨来临的时候也回去睡觉啦。
When you are prepared,spiritually,mentally and physically,you have nothing to fear.Do you agree with me？
