Today I will tell you a story called"take precautions". After reading this story,Maybe you can get something encourgment from it when you are confined at home because of the epidemic .
今天給大家講個故事，故事的名字叫《未雨綢繆》，希望讀完這個故事後，因為疫情不得不呆在家裡的你有所感悟有所收穫。
Many years ago, A farmer owned a big farm along the Atlantic seacoast. He was so busy every day that he wanted to hire a farmhand to help him .but when he advertised for several days,he received a steady stream of refusals.
從前有個農莊主，他生活在大西洋沿岸的一個農莊裡，他擁有一大塊兒土地，每天都辛勤地耕耘在這塊土地上，他起早貪黑，辛苦極了！他急需幫手幫助他打理農場裡的活計。所以他就打出廣告招聘農夫到他這裡工作，可是幾天下來，卻沒有一個人願意到他這兒工作。
Do you know why? I think you can guess the reason.Yes, because of the awful storms! The storms are so terrible that they can rage across the Atlantic,wreaking havoc on the buildings and crops.So most people were reluctant to work on farms along the Atlantic.
聰明的你，猜猜為什麼呢？對啦，暴風雨。風平浪靜的時候這裡風光旖旎，美不勝收，一但暴風雨來臨卻是另外一副樣子，狂風加雜著暴雨毫不留情地捶毀莊園裡的一切。所以人們都不願意到沿岸的農莊去打工。
How disappointed and sad the farmer felt!
此時的農莊主是多麼的失望和哀傷啊！
But one day a man came in,he was short and thin but looks smart and kind.
有一天一個身材矮小瘦弱但看上去卻精明和藹的男人走進莊園，他說他想應聘這份工作。
the farmer asked him, "Are you a good farmer?"
"Well,I can sleep when the wind blows." Answered the little man.
男子表示，“颳風下雨的時候，我也可以睡覺。”
Although puzzled by his answer, the farmer,desperate for help, hired him finally.
農莊主上下仔細打量著這個小個子男人，對他是否能夠勝任這份工作產生懷疑，但是因為自己非常需要一個人來做幫手，他也不顧多想就錄用了他！
The little man worked hard around the farm from dawn to dark and the farmer felt satisfied with the little man.
這個人到崗以後，起早貪黑，辛苦勞作，把莊園的事情打理得井井有條，事無鉅細令莊主非常滿意，挑不出任何瑕疵。
One night the terrible storm came, the strong wind howled loudly in from offshore. Jumping out of bed, the farmer grabbed a lantern and rushed to the next door and yelled ，"Get up! A stom is coming! Tie things well when the wind blows."
暴風雨終於在月黑風高的夜晚來臨啦，被風雨聲驚醒的莊主一躍而起，趕緊到隔壁叫醒了農夫，讓他一塊兒去把莊園中的東西綁緊了，以免被風颳走！
The little man rolled over in bed and said firmly, "No,sir,I told you,I can sleep when the storm comes."
可是男子翻了個身，十分肯定地說，“不用，先生，我跟你說過，颳風下雨的時候我也可以睡覺。”
Enraged by the response,the farmer was tempted to fire him on the spot.But he said nothing and hurried outside to prepare for the storm. To his surprise,he discovered that all the haystacks had been covered with tarpaulins,the cows were in the barn, the chickens were in the coops, and the doors were barred. the shutters were tightly secured.
農莊主被他的反應激怒啦，氣得當場就想解僱他，不過他還是急匆匆跑到外面為暴風雨的來臨做好準備。令他感到驚訝的是，他發現所有的乾草垛都蓋上了防水帆布，牛安靜地呆在自己的家裡，小雞們也靜靜地呆在雞舍裡，百葉窗和各房間的門都緊閉著。
Everything was tied down. Nothing could blow away.Now the farmer understood what the farmer meant,so he returned to his bed and slept while the wind blew.
一切都做好了準備，萬事俱備只欠東風。此時的農莊主才恍然大悟，明白了農夫話的含義，於是他在暴風雨來臨的時候也回去睡覺啦。
When you are prepared,spiritually,mentally and physically,you have nothing to fear.Do you agree with me？
