数词的分类
1. 基数词
表示人或事物数量多少的数词叫基数词
如：one，two，three...
2. 序数词
表示人或事物顺序的数词叫序数词
如：first，second．third...
数词的句法功能
基数词和序数词在句中的用法基本相同，都可以作主语、宾语、表语、同位语或定语，序数词还可以作状语。
作主语
There are six of us in all.
我们一共6个人。
The first is mine and the
second is yours.
第一个是我的，第二个是你的。
作宾语
The city has a population
of three million.
这个城市有300万人口。
Do you prefer the first or
the second ?
第一个和第二个你更喜欢哪一个呢？
作表语
We are altogether five.
我们一共5个人。
You are the second to come.
你是第二个来的。
作同位语
Is there room for us two?
有我们两个人的位置吗？
作定语
We still have one hour left.
我们还有一个小时的时问。
This is his first visit to China.
这是他第一次访问中国。
作状语
When did they first meet each other?
他们是什么时候首次见面的。
