本期我们要学到的表达和高峰期相关。
上班“高峰期”可不是“high time”啊！那高峰期用英语咋说？赶紧来看一下吧！
“高峰期”英语可以怎么说？
首先，high time是指“差不多…的时候了”，并不是高峰期。
高峰期英语怎么说呢？主要有两个表达。
第一个表达你可以直接说成peak time。
Peak就表示巅峰，那peak time肯定就是我们的高峰时期，巅峰时期啦。
Peak time: a time of day when a lot of people are using the same service, such as the internet, phone, etc.
Peak time就表示很多人同时用这个服务，比如说网络，手机等等的时间点。
看看英语例句：
① The peak-time ticket is much more expensive.
高峰时期的票更贵。
② The news programme goes out four times a week at peak time.
这个新闻节目在黄金时段每周播出四次。
* 英式英语中peak time也表示电视节目的黄金时段，类似美语中的prime time。
当然，除了用peak time表示高峰期，我们也可以用rush hour。
但是，rush hour更多地表示上下班的高峰期（The rush hour is one of the periods of the day when most people are travelling to or from work.），它的表达限制比peak time更多。

* 选自TED，所以下次你要问某个地方啥时候交通会拥堵，你可以用when is rush hour is XX?
对了，“非高峰期”可以说off-peak time哟！
旅游“旺季”英语咋说？
那接下来说说旅游“旺季淡季”分别怎么说？
Peak time表示高峰期，那旅游旺季你是不是已经猜出来了，其实就是peak season；和它相对应的旅游淡季，我们可以叫做off season。
看一下英文解释：
Off season: The off season is the time of the year when not many people go on holiday and when things such as hotels and plane tickets are often cheaper.
淡季是一年中没有多少人去度假的时候，也是酒店和机票等东西通常比较便宜的时候。
看看英语例句：
① Although it was off season, the hotel was fully occupied.
虽然是淡季，这家酒店却客满了。
* occupied客满。
那除了旅游淡季和旅游旺季，中间还有一个不旺又不淡的季节，我们可以叫做平季，英语中就叫做shoulder season。
Shoulder表示肩膀，不高不低，那shoulder season就表示平季啦！
