音標學習有個快速入門方法叫“掐頭去尾法”。最早了解還是小編剛剛邁出校門的時候。原創者是馬承教授，叫做“字母、音素、音標”三位一體教學法。這也是我職業生涯接受的第一次培訓。

一、輔音字母有21個。因為最容易識別，所以先解決它。

第一類：“掐頭”法，即這四個字母，在單詞中發的音是它的尾音。例如L/el/，在單詞中讀/l/。

(1) l -- leg /l/

(2) m -- man /m/

(3) n -- not /n/

(4) X --box /ks/

第二類：“去尾”法。下面這些字母，在單詞中發的音是它的首音。例如b/bi:/，在單詞中讀/b/

(5) b -- ball /b/

(6) C--nice /c/ （注意c的另一種發音/k/）

(7) d -- dog /d/

(8) f -- fish /f/

(9) j -- jump /ʤ/ （注意j作為音標符號和字母，發音是不同的）

(10) k -- kite /k/

(11) p -- pen /p/

(12) q – quick /k/ （注意q與u總是連在一起的）

(13) s -- sun /s/

(14) t – ten /t/

(15) v -- vest /v/

(16) z -- zoo /z/

第三類：特殊的發音。

(17) g-- girl /g/

(18) h -- hat /h/

(19) r -- run /h/

(20) w -- water /w/

(21) Y--yet /j/

二、四個輔音字母的發音比較靈活

字母C的發音：

(22) 後面接a，o，u的時候，c的發音與字母k發音相同，如cat, cap, call, coat, cup；

(23) 後面接e，i，或y的時候，通常c的發音與字母s發音相同，如city, ice, rice, face, cell, cent,voice, pencil, juice；

(24) 在e或i前面，c會發/sh/音 ocean, racial, social。

字母g的發音：

(25) 後面接a，o，u的時候，發/g/，如 girl, gas, get,give, go；

(26) 後面接e，i，或y的時候，有時發音與字母j的發音相同，如age,change, ginger, Egypt, gentle, giraffe, badge；

字母x的發音：

(27) 在單詞中間或結尾時發/ks/音。如 box, next, mix, six,fox

(28) ex+元音字母，x發/gz/。如 exit, exam, exact

(29) 在單詞起始位置時發/z/音: xylophone, xerox

字母y的發音：

(30) 在單詞起始位置時發音為輔音： yes, you, yard, year, yell

(31) y在單詞或音節中間或結尾時被當做元音

三、輔音字母組合

輔音連綴，即兩個（最多三個）輔音音素結合在一起的一種語音現象。

字母l組合

1. Bl-- black,blame, bless, blue, blast

2. cl --clock,class, clap, clue, close

3. fl --flag,fly, flat, flash, flower

4. gl --glass,glad, glide, glue, globe

5. pl --plate,plane, place, plus, plan

6. sl --sled,sleep, slow, slide, slim

字母r組合

1. br --bridge,break, brave, brown, bread

2. cr --crab,crack, crop, crown, creek

3. dr --dress,drag, drink, drive, drop

4. fr --frog,fresh, free, from, front

5. gr --grape,grade, grass, grin, grunt

6. pr --press,pride, price, print, proof

7. tr --truck,track, true, train, tree

字母s組合

1. sc --scale,scar, score, scare, scuff（注：在science和conscience中不同）

2. sk --skate,skip, skill, skull, skin

3. sm --smoke,smile, smog, smell, smear

4. sn --snake,snap, snore, snow, snug

5. sp --spoon,spin, spot, spell, sport

6. st --stop,stack, stay, step, still

7. sw --swim,swell, swing, sweet, swift

8. tw --twig,tweet, twist, twin, twine

三字母組合

1. shr --shrink,shred, shrill, shrimp, shrub

2. spl --splash,split, splice, splint, splurge

3. spr --spread,spring, spree, sprain, spray

4. squ --square,squad, squirrel, squat, squeak

5. str --string,strip, straw, stream, street

6. thr --throw,three, throne, thrift, thrill

結尾字母組合

1. ck（發/k/音） --duck, pack, quick, luck, rock

2. ld --cold,gold, held, mild, bald

3. lk --milk,silk, elk, sulk, skulk

4. mp --lamp,damp, champ, hump, dump

5. nch --inch,ranch, lunch, bench, crunch

6. nd --hand,kind, bend, stand, mind

7. ng（舌頭抵住上顎後方、發出的鼻音）--ring, long, sing, wing, lung

8. nk --sink,bank, trunk, pink, ink

9. nt --tent,ant, hunt, sent, mint

10. sh --fish,rash, brush, wish, trash

11. st --vest,last, test, list, lost

四、複合字母構成的單音

兩個（或三個）輔音字母在一起只發一個音，有五種組合：ch（tch），sh，wh，ph和th。

1. Ch（tch）/ʧ/--chair，check，watch

2. Sh/ʃ/--shoe，shop。

3. Wh/w/-- when，what，whale，who，whole（一般在o前面發/h/音）

4. Ph/f/--physics，photo，graph

5. Th發濁音/ð/--they, them-, their, theirs, the, this, that, these, those, then-,than, though, thus

6. th發清音/ɵ/--think，thank，thirty

五、不發音的輔音字母

1. gh中h不發音-- ghost,ghetto, ghastly

（注：gh在詞中不發音-- light,high, eight, sigh, night）

2. gn中 g 不發音--gnat,gnarl, gnaw, gnome, sign

3. kn中 k 不發音--knife,knit, know, knock, knee

4. mb中 b不發音-- comb, lamb,thumb, dumb, climb

5. ps中 p不發音-- psalm,psychic, psychology

6. rh中 h不發音-- rhinoceros,rhyme, rhythm

7. sc 中c不發音-- scissors,scent, scene, scenery, scenario

8. wr中 w不發音-- wrong,wrist, wrap, wretch, wrench
