參會專家來自國內多個重點高校，包括清華經管學院的陸毅教授、吳斌珍副教授，北大國發院的李力行教授，人大經院的王孝松教授，對外經貿大學國貿學院的劉青教授，北師大經管學院的魏浩教授，中央財經大學經院的張川川副教授，復旦經院的羅長遠教授、宋弘助教授，上海交大的許志偉副教授以及廈大經院的李培副教授。香港大學經濟與金融學院的丘東曉教授在北京訪學期間也順道蒞臨會議。
機遇體現為，當前海內外研究中國經濟問題的青年學者數量不斷上升、層次也不斷提高，英文發表的需求隨之快速上升，但國際上的英文經濟學刊物對中國經濟問題的關注仍相對不足。《中國與世界經濟》應當緊緊抓住這一機遇，與優秀的青年學者共同成長，進一步提升刊物品質及平臺影響力。
挑戰體現為，目前國內重點高校的經濟學院系在評價標準上快速與國際接軌，特別是在晉升評級獎勵體系中都制定了明確的期刊清單，這無疑會進一步加劇期刊領域強者恆強的格局。對於仍在發展和提升中的刊物，獲得優質稿源的挑戰無形中會大大增加。

China& World Economyheld an editorial meeting on 15 May, 2018
The editorial office of China & World Economy held a one-dayeditorial meeting to discuss the issues concerning further development of thejournal against changing academic environment in China. The meeting invited adozen of active leading scholars from major economic research areas, includingProf. LU Yi from Tsinghua University, Prof. LI Lixing from Peking Universityand Prof. Larry D. Qiu from Hong Kong University. The participants have engagedin candid and thorough discussion of the opportunities and challenges infurther development of CWE. A number of valuable and practical suggestions topromote the academic quality and influence of CWE have been proposed at themeeting. The CWE editorial office will gradually implement these suggestions inits work and will keep open to future suggestions to improve the journal.
