席梦在医院看着卡尔，卡尔醒来后，席梦问卡尔怎样了，卡尔说：说来有趣“You attempt suicide with a bottle of sleeping pills and when you finally wake up,they sedate you”
席梦问卡尔：当时是怎么想的？卡尔说：“I was ashamed of the pain I had caused”
席梦说，她还是会和卡尔离婚，但是不会这么快，并且是和平的离婚，她希望她的朋友像羡慕他们结婚那样羡慕他们离婚。卡尔说，希望你的朋友不会可怜你。这时席梦说到：“Our friends don’t feel pity,only schadenfreude”
1、 attempt ：n.尝试；试图；企图；杀人企图；v.尝试；试图；努力；袭击
例句：
Close your eyes and attempt to identify the sketch by running your fingertipsalong the raised outline.

2、suicide：n.自杀；自杀性行为；自杀者；自杀之谜；自杀论自毁；自取灭亡的行为；adj.自杀的；自杀性的；v.自杀
例句：
When they refused, she returned to her village anyway and threatened to commit suicide if they forced her to go back to her husband's home.
倔强的苏西拉逃回了娘家，并以自杀相威胁拒绝回到夫家。
3、sedate：adj.镇定的；泰然的；不慌不忙的；宁静的；水云间；安静的；稳重的v.给…服镇静剂
例句：
The first time I did this, I was really shocked by how much I could spend in a(quite sedate! ) afternoon and evening out.
我第一次这样做的时候，就不禁为自己一个下午及晚上的支出而直打寒颤（虽然我在写这段话的时候极力保持镇静）。
4、be ashamed of：以为…是耻辱；对…感到羞愧；惭愧；以…为羞耻
例句：
They ought to BE ashamed of themselves. It ought not to BE allowed. They shall be made to clear it up.

5、schadenfreude：n.幸灾乐祸；治疗鞭；别人的失败就是我的快乐
例句：
But Schadenfreude is never a very satisfying emotion, and in this case it would be decidedly misplaced.
但幸灾乐祸从来不是一种让人感到相当满意的情绪，而且在这个案例中显然是不应该有的。
