当地时间2月18日晚，英国广播公司（BBC）播出了对华为公司创始人兼首席执行官任正非的独家采访。
任正非在采访中反驳了美国对华为关于“间谍活动”的指控，并且对女儿孟晚舟的事件进行了回应。
任正非表示，“美国不可能摧毁我们。世界需要华为。”
There is no way the US can crush us. The world needs Huawei.
此番回应有力地打击了此前美国“抹黑”华为进行间谍活动的论断，以及遏制华为发展5G网络的行为。
“西方不亮东方亮”
当地时间2月18日晚，BBC播发女记者Karishma Vaswani对任正非进行的专访。
在采访中，任正非针对美国及其盟友澳大利亚、新西兰等国禁止华为参与这些国家5G建设一事做出了回应，称“美国不可能摧毁我们。世界需要华为，因为我们更先进。即使他们说服更多国家暂时不要使用华为，我们也只会把规模缩小一点。”
The world needs Huawei, because we are more advanced. Even if they persuade more countries not to use us temporarily, we could just scale things down a bit.
他表示，美国一直针对华为，找华为的茬，但这“只会让我们提升产品和服务”。
And because the US keeps targeting us, and finding fault with us, it has forced us to improve our products and services.
Karishma问道，如果美国成功说服西方的其他国家，让他们抵制华为的产品，会对你们的业务有什么影响？
任正非称，“那西方不亮还有东方亮啊”，美国代表不了全世界，只能代表世界的一部分。
If the lights go out in the West, the East will still shine…America doesn’t represent the world. America only represents a portion of the world.
谈及华为在英国的业务时，记者问道，“考虑到投资和就业，华为在英国的未来有多重要？你能保证华为不会撤出英国，不会把就业机会带出英国吗？”
How important is the future of Huawei in the UK, with regards to your investment plans and jobs. Are you able to guarantee that you will not be pulling out of the UK, you will not be taking jobs out of the UK.
任正非肯定地表示，“我们还会继续投资英国”。
We will continue to invest in the UK.
任正非称，我们仍然信任英国，也希望英国更信任我们……如果美国不信任我们，我们将把投资从美国转移到英国，甚至进行更大规模的投资。
We still trust in the UK, and we hope that the UK will trust us even more. .…Because if the US doesn’t trust us, then we will shift our investment from the US to the UK, on an even bigger scale.
谈孟晚舟：“美国抓错了人”
在记者问道任正非对于女儿孟晚舟案件的看法时，任正非明确指出，反对美国的做法。
“我首先要反对美国这个做法。”任正非说，这种出于政治动机的行为是不可接受的。美国喜欢制裁他人，一有问题，他们就用这种方法。我们对此表示反对。
I object to what the US had done. This kind of politically motivated act is not acceptable. The US likes to sanction others whenever there’s an issue. They’ll use such methods, we object to this.
此外，任正非认为，美国抓孟晚舟，是抓错了人。
So they caught Meng Wanzhou, maybe they got the wrong person.
他表示，美国以为抓了孟晚舟，华为就会衰败，但华为并没有衰败，仍然在继续前进。
They may have thought, if they’ve arrested her, Huawei would fall. But we didn’t fall, we are still moving forward.
任正非认为，孟晚舟事件对华为的业务并没有影响，事实上华为发展的更快了。“我们公司已经建立程序规章，再也不用依靠某个人。就算我自己哪天不在了，公司前进的步伐也不会改变的。”
There is no impact on Huawei’s business due to Meng Wanzhou’s loss of freedom. In fact we’re growing even faster.
Our company has established processes and procedures, and no longer relies on any one person. Even if I myself go one day, this company won’t change its trajectory forward.
坚决否认“间谍活动”
任正非在此次采访中，表明自己及公司的立场，坚决否认关于华为被中国政府用来进行“间谍活动”这种无端指控。
他表示，我们公司决不从事任何间谍活动。“我宁愿关闭公司，也不会从事任何损害消费者利益的行为。”
"We would rather shut Huawei down than do anything that would damage the interests of our customers," he countered.
他说，在中国，没有任何一条法律要求任何公司安装后门程序。
"No law in China requires any company to install mandatory backdoors."
“我们也不会安装（后门程序）。我们不会因为这种事，冒风险让我们国家和全世界的客户厌恶我们。”
此前，1月17日，任正非在深圳华为总部接受中国媒体采访时也曾表示，中国法律法规没有强迫企业安装强制“后门”，他个人永远不会伤害客户利益。
美国意图“抹黑”华为，却尴尬了……
美国国务卿蓬佩奥11日抵达布达佩斯，开启他匈牙利、斯洛伐克和波兰的访问行程。
环球网报道称，从美国匿名官员的行前吹风，到美国国务院的正式声明，都毫不讳言蓬佩奥此访遏制中国影响力的意图。蓬佩奥将矛头对准华为。
《华尔街日报》在题为《美国打击华为的行动在东欧面临挑战》的报道中称，美国相关官员表示，美国政府将打击华为行动的重心放在欧洲，并将这里视为与中国进行“技术冷战”的更广泛战场。
Washington is focusing on Europe in its push against Huawei and as a broader battleground in a technological cold war with China, according to U.S. officials.
此前，华盛顿明里暗里施压，已经在波兰和捷克收获“反华为”成果。波兰上个月以涉嫌从事间谍活动为由逮捕一名华为员工。
事实上，在许多欧洲国家，包括英国、德国和波兰，华为仍得以蓬勃发展，并成为这些国家电信设备市场的关键参与者。
Many European countries, though, including the U.K., Germany and Poland, have allowed Huawei to flourish and become a key player in their telecom-gear markets.
或许正如任正非所言，“美国代表不了全世界”。近期，西方社会已经开始出现倾向于华为的声音。
在此番蓬佩奥到访的国家中，匈牙利就曾公开表示，没有看到华为存在什么安全风险，因此匈牙利政府不会考虑是否要在公共部门禁止使用华为产品，匈牙利政府也没有任何排除华为公司开发5G网络的可能性。
14日，美国有线电视新闻网也曾刊文称，美国与华为的战争正搅乱世界5G建设。
文章引用IHS马基特公司的移动电信基础设施专家斯特凡⋅泰拉尔的观点，称“禁止华为将造成一个真空期，没有人能够填补，这将严重影响全球的5G部署。”
"Banning Huawei will create a vacuum that no one can fill in a timely fashion and may seriously impair 5G deployments worldwide," said Stéphane Téral, a mobile telecom infrastructure expert at research firm IHS Markit.
另据《新西兰先驱报》消息，新西兰总理阿德恩19日也表态称，没有排除华为参与发展新西兰5G通讯，目前尚未就此问题作出最终决定。
此外，据观察者网报道，2月17日，英国方面表示，称5G网络使用华为通讯设备所产生的风险是可控的，打击了美国劝说盟友的努力。
紧接着，BBC就在当地时间2月18日晚播发专访任正非的视频和相关报道，表明了英国对华为的态度和立场。
采访结束后，Karishma这样描述任正非：他似乎对间谍和知识产权盗窃的论断并不担忧。在整个采访过程中，他不断讲笑话，非常开心且幽默。
This is a man who seemed unfazed by the claims of spying and intellectual property theft. Remarkably jovial and humorous, he cracked jokes throughout the entire interview.
“他希望全世界都能够相信，他的公司在面对来自美国的压力时，依然坚强。”
This is a man who wants the world to believe that his company stands strong in the face of pressure from the US.
目前，西方舆论场上倾向于华为的声音越来越多。不论是华为，还是任正非本人，都能在逆流中保持坚强，继续发展。看来，美国遏制华为的“努力”终究会竹篮打水一场空。
