我對她的愛和思念，

就像竊賊懷中的贓物，

A joyful child in the high building,

高樓上小孩童的歡欣，

A traveler's lamplight and compass: –

旅行人的燈亮與南針：

The glittering spirits beyond distance!

萬萬裡外閃爍的精靈！

I have a broken soul,

我有一個破碎的魂靈，

Like a pile of broken crystals,

像一堆破碎的水晶，

Scattered over the withered grass of moor–

散佈在荒野的枯草裡

Sipping up your temporary love.

飽啜你一瞬瞬的殷勤。

The passion and tenderness of lifetime

人生的冰激與柔情，

I ever tasted, I ever stood for;

我也曾嘗味，我也曾容忍；

Chirping of autumn cricket under the stair,

有時階砌下蟋蟀的秋吟
