One night, Washington and several guests were chatting by the fireplace . The fireplace was too hot behind him, So Washington turned around and sat down facing the fireplace. One of the guests here joked,"my general, you should stand up to the fire. How can you fear it?"
Washington replied with a smile,"I think you are wrong. As a general, I should face the fire and accept the challenge. If I face the fire with my back, won't I be a defeated general on the run?"
2.Goethe
One day Goethe, the great German poet, was walking in the park when he happened to meet a critic who was against him on a narrow path. The arrogant critic said to Goethe, "As you know, I never give way to a fool." Then Goethe replied, "But I am the opposite."
