洗衣服是主要家務之一，大家幾乎每天都會換洗衣服，那英語該怎麼說呢？很多人把“洗衣服”翻譯為wash clothes，這種說法並不是不可以，只是太中式了，老外一般不這麼說。
“洗衣服”英語怎麼說？
看過《老友記》、《生活大爆炸》等美劇的朋友就知道，老外一般會把換洗的髒衣服拿到洗衣店清洗。
這種公用的洗衣房叫“laundry”，laundry除了洗衣店/房，也可以表示“要洗的衣服”。所以老外對“洗衣服”的地道說法是“do the laundry” 。
在英式英語中，“洗衣服”也會用“do the washing”來表達。
另外，國外酒店提供的洗衣服務叫laundry service。如果你跟酒店的服務員說wash clothes，她很可能會以為你要她幫你手洗衣服。正確的說法就是laundry service。
