大家好！這裡又是學院派的咔咔來啦，今天我們要學一個大大的區別（手動打call）。
Amount of和number of都指數量，到底有什麼不同？比如說，large amount of和large number of都表示“數量大”，有啥區別呢？
那今天我們就好好來捯飭一下這兩個詞組吧，其實區別還真是挺明顯的呢。
1. amount of
amount of表示數量，但是經常用於搭配不可數名詞。
英語例句：
① You can get a large amount of information on the internet.
你可以在互聯網上獲得大量的信息。
② - Are you stressed?
- not really, I just have a very small amount of stress.
- 你有壓力嗎？
- 其實沒啥，我壓力真的很小。
* 上面的stress壓力，information信息，都是非常常見的不可數名詞。
你也可以說an amount of time/money/confidence，來表達這些不可數名詞的數量；
還可以這麼搭配，large/vast/enormous amount of表示大數量，用small amount of表示小數量。
2. number of
那反觀number of，也是表示數量，但它搭配的是可數名詞複數。
英語例句：
① A large number of people have signed up for the course.
很多人都報名參加了這個課程。
* 注意喲，people是天生的複數，雖然它後面沒有加s/es，但是不能否定人家先天自帶複數特徵喲。
② A small number of employees want to leave the company.
有小部分職員想離開這個公司。
3. 測試不能少呀！
a. A computer can store ____ of information. （電腦可以儲存很多信息）
b. If you don’t have a certain ____ of confidence, you won’t succeed. （如果你沒有一定的自信，你是無法成功的）
c. I can see ____ of cars on the road. （我在路上看到了很多的車）
答案是不是清晰可見：
a. a large amount of information.
b. a certain amount of confidence.
c. a large number of cars

amount of連接的是不可數名詞。
number of連接的是可數名詞複數喲。
