把“开学”翻译成open school？说明你对open的含义还不太清楚，有小伙伴就说了，open不是可以指“开门”么？那学校开学不也是学校开始运作，跟“开门”一个意思...可不是这样哦。
我们所说的“开学”其实是说，新学期开始，假期结束，学生重新回到学校上学，而放到英文中open school 则跟中文的意思不同，只是单纯的学校开放了它的大门，有可能是学校的。

另外open school里的open也可作形容词，就变成了“开放的学校”，所以，这个表达并不准确。
我们都知道“学期”是semester/term，在这里补充一下这两个词的区别。
①semester 适用于美国，一学年分为两个学期。the spring/ fall semester 春季/秋季学期
②term 适用于英国，一学年分为三个学期。the spring/ summer/ fall term 春季/夏季/秋季学期。其次，term还可以表示专业术语。
“开学”是新学期的开始，所以用new semester（或term） starts/begins表示。
例句：
British universities start in September or October.
英国大学于九月份或十月份开学。
开学也意味着师生都需要返校了，所以开学还可以用back to school代替。外国朋友和你说back to school时，不要总是理解为平常出入校园哦，他可能是在说开学了。
例句：
My son went back to school on this Monday, he went to school by public transport.
我的儿子这个星期一开学，他是搭乘公共交通工具去的。
01、“报到”怎么说？
开学后我们都要去自己的班级报到，报到不要翻译成report one s arrival，一点都不地道。报到也就是登记注册学生们的学籍信息，所以外国人都用register表示报到。
例句：
Students have started registering this morning.
今天上午，学生们已经开始报到了。
02、go to the school和go to school有什么区别
我们以前学英语的时候，表达自己去上学都会说go to school，那么go to the school又在表达什么呢？
千万不要把go to the school也理解为去上学，其实go to the school更准确的意思是去学校，不过，是不是去学校上学就不确定了，也有可能是去学校上班或者因为其他事去上学。
例句：
①He often goes to the school to see his teacher.
他经常回母校去看望老师。
②She will have to go to school
她将不得不去上学。
