Although I love my life, it hasn’t been a lot of fun as I’ve been ill for 28 years.

儘管我熱愛我的生活,但它實際上並沒有太多的快樂,因為我病了28年。

音樂一直我熱衷的事情。在我20幾歲的時候,那時我的病情還能夠控制,我在小酒吧裡面自彈自唱一些鄉村音樂,享受愉快的十年時光。然而不幸的是,那已是幾十年前的事了,今非昔比,我現在和我媽媽住在一個鄉下的農場裡。

兩年前,我決定要賺一些餘錢補貼我微薄的殘疾撫卹金,由於我需要在下午時間睡覺,這樣剩下的選擇就很少,不得已,我只能選擇回到酒館唱歌。

我的家人都是音樂家,所以當我走進當地的光盤店鋪的時候,就被認出來了,我解釋說我想唱歌,但是我只能用錄音的音樂盤,因為我是買不起那些昂貴的迪斯科音樂盤,況且迪斯科通常10個裡常用的只有3到4首歌,所以沒什麼必要。

當我和店鋪的老闆說明我的想法後,老闆意味深長的看了我一眼,說“這對你意味著很多,是嗎?”他接著說“跟我來”。

他帶著我穿過擁擠的光盤店過道,來到堆著很多卡拉ok光盤的長凳面前,光盤店老闆用他那厚實的手掌撫摸著他的寶貝們,對我說“我這裡有800張,你聽過之後,選好歌曲,我給你錄音,那樣應該足夠用來開始了。”

我很感激他,差點哭了。我和他約好什麼時候聽歌,選好我能唱的歌來錄音。在他的幫助下,我回到了原來的狀態(指的應該是作者20多歲時的唱歌狀態)。

他的好心腸至今仍然溫暖著我的心。如果有機會的話,我會為別人多做一點善事。
