LianZi (蓮子) is the seed of the Lotus. After the lotus blooms (lovely flower), it forms the round dish-like seed pod with individual seed pockets. Removing the seed shell reveals a white round seed kernel. Lianzi is commonly used in sweet deserts, either in liquid bisque or as filling in pastries. Nice! Lotus flower seeds are used in many recipes. Most often in moon cakes and hot pots. The seeds have a black outer shell. Removing that you get a purple skinned seed, and removing the purple skin you get a white seed full of starch. They have unearthed lotus seeds buried underground for 700 to 1000 years and the seeds germinated and flowered!

OMG, the dancing ladies, middle-aged and seniors, they keep on dancing and dancing with their loud music, wakes me up at 6AM in the morning on the weekends, and does not stop until midnight. I had to move out of my luxury company-paid apartment to a new place in Hang Zhou because of them.
