英語罐頭

還記得罐頭菌幾年前有一段時間非常喪，處於“失業”時期，同時還也沒有足夠的錢讓我躺著不用工作，這時候我就會對自己說：I have neither job nor money.
neither nor，學英語時大概在中學的時候就會學到，罐頭菌當時可是非常喜歡這個詞組，因為用它組個句子又能湊字數，也能表明邏輯。不過相信熟悉它的小夥伴並不知道，這個詞組的一些俚語也是會讓完全摸不著頭腦的。
1.neither here nor there 無關緊要
不是這裡，也不是哪裡？明確地說，這可不是用語表示地點方位的詞組，而是一個管用的俚語。主要表示某個東西或者事情“並不重要，不是關鍵點“的意思。
Dinner half an hour earlier or later was neither here nor there.
早半小時或者晚半小時吃晚餐並不是什麼大事情。
2.neither fish nor fowl 不倫不類
即不是魚類，也不是禽類，中文翻譯過來，就是我們常說的”不倫不類，不三不四“。可能兩個都像，但結果來看兩個都不是。
Graduate teaching assistants are neither fish nor fowl,neither completely students nor teachers.
大學生助教確實有點不三不四，既不是學生，也不是教師。
3.neither one thing nor the other 四不像
其實可以看出來，neither one thing nor the other與上面的neither fish nor fowl其實是近義詞，都是同樣的意思，都表示”不三不四“。
I prefer a book to be either fact or fiction - this one is neither one thing nor the other!
我喜歡的書要麼寫實，要麼虛構——這本書卻是個四不像！
最後，罐頭菌來給大家複習一下三個並列連詞吧~
（1）neither nor 既不...也不
Most of them neither know nor care how it works.
他們大部分人及不知道也不關心這如何運作。
（2）either or 不是...就是
She’s the kind of person you either love or hate.
她是那種你有可能喜歡也有可能討厭的人。
（3）both and 兩者都
He’s lived in both Britain and America.
英國和美國他都住。
