我買房子了 ≠ I bought a house
英語中普通人的住所主要有兩種：一種是別墅house，一種是公寓apartment （英式英語flat）。所以如果你跟別人說：I bought a house. 是跟別人說你買了一棟別墅！妥妥的土豪呀！
我們日常說的“買房子”，一般是指單元房，即一棟樓裡的一套房子。
正確的表達
I bought an apartment.（英式英語flat）
我的房子 = my apartment
我住的地方=my place
place 代表住的地方，不管是租還是買
例句
You can stay at my place when you are in Beijing.
你來北京，可以住在我那。
