雛菊、玫瑰與紫羅蘭，各種不同的花都有各自的象徵意義。英文中也有不少和花草植物有關的俚語，大家一起來拈花惹草吧~
1. Rose 玫瑰
■ coming up roses 漸入佳境；進展順利
They encountered a lot of difficulties at the beginning of the project, but now it’s coming up roses.
他們在計劃一開始的時候遇到許多困難，但現在已經漸入佳境了。
■ not a bed of roses 不盡如人意
You know, life is not a bed of roses. Things just don’t always go as planned.
你知道，人生總會有不如意的時候，事情不會每次都照著我們的計劃走。
2. Daisy 雛菊
■ fresh as a daisy 精神飽滿；容光煥發
Annie was exhausted after she came back from her business trip, but she became as fresh as a daisy after a good night sleep .
安妮出差回來後筋疲力竭，但好好睡了一晚之後她就變得精神飽滿。
■ pushing up the daisies 死；一命嗚呼
Some say that human will all move to another planet in the future, but I’ll probably be pushing up the daisies long before it happens.
有人說人類在未來會全部移居到另一個星球，但在那種事發生之前我大概早就一命嗚呼了。
3. Violet 紫羅蘭
■ shrinking violet 害羞靦腆的人
Jennifer is no shrinking violet. She feels completely at ease when speaking on the stage.
珍妮佛完全不是會害羞的人，她在臺上講話時感覺相當自在。
4. bud 花蕾
■ nip in the bud 防患未然
Cancers are hard to cure, but most of them can be nipped in the bud if they are detected in the early stage.
要治好癌症很困難，但大部分的癌症若能在早期診斷出來都可以及時治癒。
每天，不見不散，
你說你喜歡雨，但是你在下雨的時候打傘；你說你喜歡太陽，但你在陽光明媚的時候躲在陰涼的地方；你說你喜歡風，但是在颳風的時候你卻關上了窗戶；
