雏菊、玫瑰与紫罗兰，各种不同的花都有各自的象征意义。英文中也有不少和花草植物有关的俚语，大家一起来拈花惹草吧~
1. Rose 玫瑰
■ coming up roses 渐入佳境；进展顺利
They encountered a lot of difficulties at the beginning of the project, but now it’s coming up roses.
他们在计划一开始的时候遇到许多困难，但现在已经渐入佳境了。
■ not a bed of roses 不尽如人意
You know, life is not a bed of roses. Things just don’t always go as planned.
你知道，人生总会有不如意的时候，事情不会每次都照着我们的计划走。
2. Daisy 雏菊
■ fresh as a daisy 精神饱满；容光焕发
Annie was exhausted after she came back from her business trip, but she became as fresh as a daisy after a good night sleep .
安妮出差回来后筋疲力竭，但好好睡了一晚之后她就变得精神饱满。
■ pushing up the daisies 死；一命呜呼
Some say that human will all move to another planet in the future, but I’ll probably be pushing up the daisies long before it happens.
有人说人类在未来会全部移居到另一个星球，但在那种事发生之前我大概早就一命呜呼了。
3. Violet 紫罗兰
■ shrinking violet 害羞腼腆的人
Jennifer is no shrinking violet. She feels completely at ease when speaking on the stage.
珍妮佛完全不是会害羞的人，她在台上讲话时感觉相当自在。
4. bud 花蕾
■ nip in the bud 防患未然
Cancers are hard to cure, but most of them can be nipped in the bud if they are detected in the early stage.
要治好癌症很困难，但大部分的癌症若能在早期诊断出来都可以及时治愈。
