用英語表達數字，無論是對學生還是聽者來說都容易令人困惑。遵循以下這些規則，你可以準確地用英語表達數字。
雖然數字是英語入門階段學習的內容，但不同場景下的數字表達還是頗有難度，寫起來容易，讀起來難，一起來看看下面幾種情況：
一般來說，大於二十的數在書面英語中應該用數字表示：
I have fifteen clients in New York.
我在紐約有十五個客戶。
She has 240 contacts on her mailing list.
她的郵件列表上有240個聯繫人。
至於讀法，通常一到二十之間，我們讀單個的數字；二十往後，使用十位數（二十，三十等），後接數字一到九：
7：seven
19：nineteen
32：thirty-two
89：eighty-nine
當表達大數字時（超過一百），以“百”為單位來讀。順序如下：billion, million, thousand, hundred。
請注意，hundred和thousand等詞後面不加“s”，即兩百是two hundred，不是two hundreds
百位數的讀法
讀百位數以一到九開始，後接“hundred”，以末尾的兩位數結束：
350： three hundred fifty
425： four hundred twenty-five
873：eight hundred seventy-three
112：one hundred twelve
注意：英式英語會在“hunderd”後加上“and”，美式英語則省略“and”。
千位數的讀法
先讀出999以內的數字，後面緊接“thousand”，必要時，以百位數來結束。
15,560：fifteen thousand five hundred sixty
786,450：seven hundred six thousand four hundred fifty
342,713：three hundred forty-two thousand seven hundred thirteen
百萬位數的讀法
對於百萬位的數，先讀出999以內的數字，後面緊接“million”；有需要時，先讀千位數，再以百位數來結束。
2,450,000：two million four hundred fifty thousand
27,805,234：twenty seven million eight hundred five thousands two hundred thirty-four
934,700,000 ：nine hundred thirty-four million seven hundred thousand
589,432,420：five hundred eighty nine million four hundred thirty-two thousand four hundred twenty
對於更大的數字，以同樣的方式從大單位向小單位過渡。
23,870,550,000：twenty-three billion eight hundred seventy million five hundred fifty thousand
12,600,450,345,000：twelve trillion（萬億） six hundred billion four hundred fifty million three hundred forty-five thousand
數字太大的話，末尾數往往被四捨五入到下一位最大或最小的整數，這樣就使讀數變得更容易，例如：345987650被舍入到350000000。
小數的讀法
讀小數就讀出數字，後面加上“point”，point後面的數字單獨來讀就行。
2.36：two point three six
9.7841：nine point seven eight four one
百分數的讀法
讀百分數就讀出數字，緊接“percent”。
37%：thirty-seven percent
12%：twelve percent
分數的讀法
分數線上面的數字讀基數詞（cardinal number），分數線下面的數字讀序數詞（ordinal number）加“s”。
3/8：three-eighths
5/16：five-sixteenths
1/32：one thirty-second
這個規則的例外情況是：
1/4、3/4：one-quarter、 three quarters
1/3、2/3：one third、two-thirds
1/2：one-half
讀帶分數的方法是先讀前面的數字，再加上“and”，後讀分數。
4 7/8：four and seven-eighths
23 1/2：twenty-three and one-half

下面是描述性名稱的數值表達：
速度
100 mph (miles per hour)：100英里/小時（英里/小時）
讀速度值: One hundred miles per hour
重量
42 lb. (pounds)：42磅
讀重量值：forty-two pounds
電話號碼
讀電話要單獨讀出每個數字：
0171 895 7056：zero one seven one eight nine five seven zero five six
日期
讀日期按照月、日、年的順序。
溫度
72° F (Fahrenheit)：72華氏度（華氏溫度）
讀溫度的方式是“degrees +number”： seventy-two degrees fahrenheit
高度
6'2''：讀高度，先讀英尺，再讀英寸： six feet two inches
價格
$60：讀錢數，先讀數字，再讀貨幣單位：Sixty dollars
表達美元時先讀美元，再讀美分：
$43.35 - forty-three dollars thirty-five cents
$120.50 - one hundred twenty dollars fifty cents
通常，以英語為母語的人，經常先說美元，接著是美分的數字，省略“dollars”和“cents”
35.80 - thirty-five eighty
175.50 - one hundred seventy-five fifty
比分
2 ：1
讀比分是：“數字 ＋ to ＋ 數字”，上面的比分讀成Two to one。
序數詞
序數詞是用來表達某月中的某一天，或在一個群體中的位置。
除了個位十個數字中的“第一”、“第二”和“第三”外，大多數序數詞都以“th”結尾：
2nd：second
