甜白是永樂窯創燒的一種白釉。由於永樂白白瓷製品中許多都薄到半脫胎的程度，能夠光照見影。在釉暗花刻紋的薄胎器面上，施以溫潤如玉的白釉，便給人以一種“甜”的感受，故名“甜白”。尤其是脫胎製作工藝極其複雜，大約需要幾十道工序。甜白釉釉極瑩潤，能照見人影，比樞府窯卵白釉有更加明顯的乳濁感，給人以溫柔甜淨之感，所以又稱“蔥根白”，素有“白如凝脂，素猶積雪”之譽。
