(-rr-) (not used in the progressive tenses 不用于进行时) to like one thing or person better than another; to choose one thing rather than sth else because you like it better 较喜欢；喜欢…多于… [VN]

I much prefer jazz to rock music. 我喜欢爵士乐远胜过摇滚乐。
