雞血石，是辰砂條帶的地開石，因鮮紅色似雞血的辰砂(硃砂)而得名。雞血石含有辰砂(硃砂)、石英、玉髓35%-45%。磁鐵礦、赤鐵礦6%-12%。辰砂約5%-8%。雞血石同壽山石、青田石、巴林石並列，享有中國“四大國石”的美稱，主要用作為印章或是工藝雕刻品材料。中國最早在浙江昌化發現玉巖山雞血石，又發現了內蒙古赤峰市巴林右旗的巴林雞血石，20世紀90年代又在貴州、陝西、甘肅、四川、湖南、雲南、新疆等地發現了雞血石。
