Katie Price faces a bleak Christmas, as she was forced to sign over her £2million so-called ‘mucky mansion’ after being declared bankrupt, according to reports. The 41-year-old, who is currently having extensive renovation work done on the Sussex mansion, now faces homelessness. It comes after Katie, who was once worth £45million, was declared bankrupt at the High Court in November after failing to settle debts via a payment plan. Now, according to Sunday People, Land Registry documents confirmed Katie – who has just returned from a glitzy NYC trip – was recently forced to sign her 11-bed mansion over to her trustee. A source said: ‘Katie faces being made homeless any day if the property is sold now that the bankruptcy charge has been applied.’ Katie bought the extensive pile in Horsham, West Sussex, from ex-Cabinet Office Minister Francis Maude in 2014 for £1.3million.

The sprawling mansion stands in 12.25 acres and once boasted a glistening swimming pool which has now been drained and is barely a murky puddle, as well as overgrown tennis courts, unused stables and paddocks – with a small green area to the back of the home that sports play equipment for her young children. The mansion currently lies in a state of disrepair, with the star candidly speaking about the renovations needed on her reality show My Crazy Life. Fans were also treated to a guided tour of the house on Katie’s YouTube channel where she showed off her home in the middle of the renovation.

She explained: ‘My house… Everyone is calling it “mucky mansion”. Yes, because I’m not living in my house. It’s empty. ‘I’m doing stuff to it and something has gone wrong. I’ll explain that in due course. I have builders inside my house, my post gets moved here, there and everywhere.’ Katie had revealed she moved out of the main home and into her annexe while the works were being done, with reports emerging she also splits her time between boyfriend Kris Boyson’s house in Kent as well as staying with family and friends.

Back in 2018, Katie miraculously swerved bankruptcy by entering an IVA after facing £22,000 in debt. Her luck ran out though and in November, the star’s statement pink Range Rover was pictured on sale at a used car dealership in Essex, with a sign reading ‘repo’ on the window signalling it had been repossessed.
