A new shuttle bus line between Guangzhou and Zhuhai has started operation on October 16, allowing passengers to traverse the 125 kilometers between the two cities in one and a half hours.
The bus departs every hour and offers seven trips on weekdays and 13 on weekends. With eight stops, the bus line ends at exit C of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall metro station in Guangzhou, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port Bus Terminal. Passengers can board or get off at Tiyu Xilu metro station (Exit G) and Chebeinan metro station (Exit C) in Guangzhou, and Xiangzhou Government Offices, Zhuhai College of Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai College of Beijing Institute of Technology, and Huaqiao Hotel station in Zhuhai.
The new service should be easily accessible as the pickups are arranged at populated spots in the two cities. Passengers don't have to travel all the way to Guangzhou South Railway Station to take the high speed rail to Zhuhai. With a ticket price of 19.9 yuan per ride, the new shuttle also is less costly than trains and other coaches, not to mention the discounted tickets that cost just 8.8 yuan. There are only a few discounted tickets offered each day on their mini program which can be accessed through scanning the QR code at the bottom of this page. First come first served!
With the construction in the Greater Bay Area, Zhuhai has become an important transport hub connecting with Hong Kong and Macao more conveniently than ever. Zhuhai is also a great city to explore. Listed below are two major spots to visit while you are there.
Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge
This bridge doesn't just link the three regions together, but more importantly it bonds and boosts the economic development between the Chinese mainland and the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions. The bridge stretches 55 kilometers over the Lingdingyang Waters, making it the longest sea bridge in the world.
Travel tips: Get off at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Zhuhai Port Bus Terminal stop. Visitors can enter Hong Kong and Macao by purchasing bus tickets at the port.
Zhuhai Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort
The resort has an exciting amusement park and one of the world's biggest aquariums where you can enjoy all kinds of performances and games. Dolphins, sea lions and belugas give performances every day. Inside the aquarium, you can see the largest whale shark exhibition pool in the world. Another attractions is the resort's huge 5D cinema screen.
Travel tips: Get off at the Huaqiao Hotel stop and take a taxi. The resort is just half an hour drive away.
