在分析出書信的類型和腔調之後呢，我們就要開始進入到具體的書信構思中去。這個時候就要充分調動我們的“邏輯思維”能力。英文書信寫作，並不是信馬由韁，想到哪算哪，而是要有一個內在的邏輯鏈條。
對於一封信而言，我們首先就要禮貌地表示來意，然後開門見山，點出寫信目的。然後，我們就要進入到“敘述”的部分，也就是結合我們的寫作目的，完整、清晰地講清楚你寫信的來龍去脈，力求內容清楚曉暢有邏輯，這也是書信的“重頭戲”部分。在敘述的時候可以採用“5W1H”的方法，也就是What（什麼），When（時間），Why（原因），Who（人物），Where（地點），How（方式），在書信的主體段落構建中，要充分考慮到這幾個要素。最後，我們要進行點題，再一次總結概括自己的訴求或是表明自己寫信的主題，讓這封信看起來“有始有終”。
在寫信的時候，我們要學會“預設”一個對象，也就是說我們要去思考如何最清楚、最簡潔地表達清楚自己的意思，讓收信人準確get到我們的點。如果能夠達到這一點，其實我們的寫作目的就完成了一大半。這也再次對同學們的邏輯思維能力提出了要求，寫信之前一定要構思好、想清楚，可以先用中文的思維去搭建框架，再將具體語言轉化成英文。
